HEADLINE NEWS

The barriers to commercialisation of hydrogen and fuel cells are coming down, as technologies mature and users of fossil fuels begin to cover their full external costs. At the 11th Grove Fuel Cell Symposium in London, manufacturers and users from around the world outlined programmes to introduce fuel cells, in order to ensure future energy security and meet targets to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Speakers reported on the operation of fuel cells in transport, portable and combined heat and power applications. The Grove Medal was presented to Honda Motor Company, which is leasing its hydrogen fuel cell cars to private customers and starting to build a new energy infrastructure, with fuel cells powered by its home energy generator.
